Our Story

Hailing from the European and local highlands, the Gunns family is a clan of passionate storytellers and devoted spirit enthusiasts. While their initial fascination with the golden dram was undoubtedly influenced by the cooler climate and thin air of home, it has since evolved into a remarkable, near two-decade career. Their journey has taken them across the globe, where they've explored distilleries in the farthest reaches and absorbed the wisdom of master distillers, industry legends and craftsmen.

Their commitment to knowledge, however, extends far beyond personal enrichment. With the Wild About Whisky tasting bar in Dullstroom and The Whisky Rebellion events team in Johannesburg, the Gunns family have made it their mission to share their enthusiasm and expertise through masterclass-style tastings for private and corporate events. In doing so, they've cultivated a global community of whisky aficionados, eager to sip, savour, and learn together.
